Bob's MemoirsWhen I reached retirement age, at 65 years, and started to take an interest in our ancestors, Una and I repeatedly said how good it would have been if our parents and grandparents had left us an account of their lives. Well, here is an attempt to pass on to our children and grandchildren all I can remember of those years I have been lucky to see. I have called my memoirs: Don't Take It Serious? The old song says: "Life is just a bowl of cherries Don't take it serious It's too mysterious..." I, however, must confess that sometimes I have said: "Life isn't just a bowl of cherries, you know!" |
Una's MemoirsAh! I Remember It Well. "A lifetime of memories can bring a smile, or a tear." The first advice to those researching their family history is "Get your parents, and grandparents to tell you their life story". Sadly this advice comes too late for many - it did for me. With that in mind, and with a view to the future, I present the story of my life as I remember it. |
